The story

It started in a bar in Lisbon. We told the women which men were single. We told the men nothing. A few women gave a hint, and those men knew they could go over. Three dates came out of one evening.

Women were doing the same thing with handkerchiefs hundreds of years ago. She dropped it, he picked it up, and they started talking. Hundreds of years apart and people are still people. So we stopped trying to improve on it.

How it works

   Check in when you're out and open to meeting someone. A café, a park, the gym, your coworking. Wherever you actually are.

   Women see the men who are checked in, and drop a handkerchief on one of them. Men see a number, and nobody at all.

3. 3.

   He sees exactly who dropped it, and picks it up. Then you go and say hello. In person. Right now.

That's it. No chat. No DMs. The app's job is to get you talking as quickly as possible.

For the men: you never have to guess whether someone wants to be approached, and you are never turned down in front of a room. You don’t get to choose, and you don’t get to be wrong.

Why women are invisible

On every other dating app a man can see which women are single, and often where they are. So a lot of women don't join, or don't say where they are.

Nobody here is ever shown a list of women. A man in the same cafe sees a number. Signing up as a woman gains him nothing, because what a woman sees is a list of men. The only way he sees her is if she drops her handkerchief on him.
