The story

It started in a bar in Lisbon.

We told the women which men were single. We told the men nothing. A few women gave a hint, those men knew they could go over, and three dates came out of one evening.

Women were doing much the same thing with handkerchiefs hundreds of years ago. She dropped it, he picked it up, and they started talking.

Hundreds of years apart and people are still people. So we stopped trying to improve on it.

How it works

   Check in.

   When you’re somewhere you’d be open to meeting someone. A café, park, gym, coworking space. Wherever you already are.

2. 2.

   She notices him.

   Women see the men who are checked in. Men only see how many people are there.

3. 3.

   She drops her handkerchief.

   He sees who dropped it, picks it up, and goes over to say hello.

That’s it. No swiping. No chat. No DMs.

The app’s job is to make the first move easier, then get out of the way.

Why women are invisible

Because being visible changes the experience.

Men never see a list of women nearby. The only way he sees her is if she chooses him first.

For him, that means no guessing whether she wants to be approached.

For her, it means she decides who gets to know she’s there.
